AI-Powered Storyboard Creation

Categories: Custom | Design

I’ve been juggling multiple projects and still diving deep into the world of AI, which continues to be a thrilling game-changing adventure on a daily basis. It’s been nudging me in the right direction, enhancing my creativity, increasing my workload, and ensuring brand guidelines are on point for all my design work. I’ve used it to do work I never dreamed of doing, from marketing strategies, social media ads, content writing, and just an endless number of things that I can mention.

But I wanted to share my latest venture which is creating storyboards (it’s a bunch of of sketches that map out a story, ensuring everyone in the production is on the same page on what needs to be shot.)

My first storyboard project was for an Ad agency in Dubai. And it was such a blast! Having been in the film and entertainment industry for ages now, I’ve worn many hats, from design, video editing, product placement, and executive producing, But creating storyboards using AI? That’s something I never thought of doing until a couple of weeks ago. It took just a day to train my model, and the results? Simply mind-blowing. Every storyboard I create reminds me of the limitless possibilities when technology meets passion.

(I’ve added examples of different storyboard styles that I made. So I can photoshop any image or just use a reference image (even with watermarks) and it will do me a “Storyboard drawing” of it. I wish I could show more of the many storyboards I made, but don’t want to get into trouble for oversharing).

Some of my friends have been dabbling in AI such as ChatGPT and ComfyUI, and while it’s great to see their creations and enthusiasm, it’s clear that to truly harness its full potential, and not get “generic results” you need to be a tad obsessed. And I’ve embraced that obsession wholeheartedly (especially with Large Language Models and ComfyUI).

What excites me is the journey, the learning, where it’s heading, and the sheer joy of creating something unique and understanding its nuances, and pushing its boundaries.

AI isn’t here to steal the show; it’s here to make the encore even better.
