That Moment When Someone Asks for Your Card and You Don’t Have One

Categories: Custom | Design | Featured

It happened to me a while back. I was chatting to someone who seemed genuinely interested in working with me. Right before they left, they asked for my business card… and I didn’t have one on me. Not in my wallet, not in my bag, nowhere. I laughed it off, but honestly, it bugged me.

That moment made me rethink the way I handle networking. I design websites and digital tools for a living, so why was I still relying on paper cards?

Enter the Digital Business Card

I decided to build something better. A digital business card that’s always with me and takes seconds to share. It lives on my phone, and I can send it with a tap, a scan, or even a WhatsApp message. People can save my contact details straight to their phone with no effort. No typing, no lost cards, no awkward moments.

But it’s more than just a fancy contact link.

It connects people to everything I do. From there they can call, message, email, visit my site, follow me on Instagram, or check out my latest projects. I even use it to share sneak peeks via WhatsApp stories.

Why It Works So Well

Digital cards aren’t just practical. They make a great first impression. When someone sees how quickly and easily they can save your info, it leaves a mark. It also feels modern and professional.

Here are a few real situations where they’re super useful:

  • At meetings when someone asks for your details

  • At expos or pop-up events where you don’t want to carry printouts

  • When someone messages you and says “send your info quickly”

  • When you’re travelling and don’t have physical cards with you

  • During Zoom or WhatsApp calls when you want to look prepared

Fully Custom and On-Brand

I now create these digital business cards for clients too. They’re not generic templates. I design each one around your brand, with your logo, colors, and links that actually matter. Want a button to your booking form, product page, or PDF download? No problem.

And yes, I’ve got a little trick to share mine that usually gets a surprised “how did you do that?” It’s a simple bit of tech magic that fits perfectly with what I do as a designer.

Want One for Yourself?

If you want to be ready the next time someone says “do you have a card?”, I can help you create a digital one that actually works. Custom design, easy to use, and always on hand.
